Last month President Obama announced the creation of the 21st Century Task Force on Policing to strengthen the relationships between local police and the communities they are charged with protecting and serving.
Attorney Connie Rice was appointed to this task force because of her work advocating for reforms in the LAPD and the LA Sheriff's office, and she wants to hear from you.
Assemblyman Reggie Jones-Sawyer, chair of the California Legislative Black Caucus and author of criminal justice reform legislation, will also be there to hear your feedback and explain what's being done to improve police-community relations at the state level.
Come share your opinions about police-community relations with me, Assemblyman Reggie Jones-Sawyer and Attorney Connie Rice.
I hope you can join us, and I look forward to hearing your ideas and your concerns.
