Storm Damage Updates!

From: The Office of Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove—

Hello all,

We received notice of this yesterday and wanted to make sure you all were aware! Please share with constituents as I know many expressed concern over the major disaster declaration.

Should you have any questions for our office, don't hesitate to reach out!

Naomi Riley

Outreach Director

Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove (CA-37)

We are encouraging people to report damages using the survey at this link. FEMA is looking for cities to report to counties, and counties the report to the state.  We still do not know if the threshold for FEMA assistance to homeowners has been reached.

There will be a City portal available soon, which will have links to resources (e.g.: there's some effort to get assistance from NGOs who help with clean-ups, but I know people want that FEMA assistance!).

Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have questions.  My email address is in the Neighbor Corner page (see above).

Shirley Worrels, BHEHOA President

Important Updates!

Proposition 19 Death Tax Repeal.

Background:  Proposition 19 overturned prop 13-  Homeowners whose tax basis is fairly low could

transfer this same tax base to their children upon their death.  Prop 19 rescinded this law

and the tax base will trigger a reassessment to the current value, resulting in a huge tax increase.

Sign the petition to rescind Prop 19

Photos from Walk in the Dons

Thanks to all of you! The Walk in the Dons was a smashing success.  We all made new friends, and reconnected with old friends. We even learned where the different streets were located in our neighborhood. We thank you for making this event a success and look forward to seeing you soon.
